This is our second rough cut for our music video. It has been slightly edited now and it is starting to look like what we hoped it would look like. The editing that has been done is
cutting the clips we took to fit the song, the lip syncing has been matched pretty well too in this rough cut. We did however use a transition; the most obvious of was the one that was the
into-television transition at 2:12. We are also still planning
on re-filming some of the shots. E.g. we are going to film a shot of
Amy locking the door so that the window-climbing shot is more justified and the storyline is a lot clearer because with some audience feedback that we got, some of them said that they didn't understand the storyline/narrative.

Music Video: Rough Cut 1 Feedback Analysis
We were pleased with the feedback we got for our 1st rough
cut as it was nothing short of what we expected. We were very happy with all of
the positive feedback that we received. As for the negative feedback we already
have an idea of how we are going to rectify the problems that we had brought
up.
Reece Field
The first negative point that was brought up was that some
of the lip syncing was a bit off. We will fix this by going back and adjusting
the timings of the clips so the lip-syncing is in time and we will also be
re-filming some out of time shots.
The next thing that was picked up on was that the extreme
close up of the mouth lip syncing the words "do it up now" was
blurry. We will fit this by re-filming this shot.
Another thing that was picked up on was that some shots
repeat. The reason for this is because they're part of a flashback sequence.
However we will add some visual effects to distinguish this.
The fourth thing that was brought up was that the people who
viewed our music video is that some thought that the TV should actually turn
on. We will experiment with this and see how it looks.
The next thing that was pointed out to us was that the
camera was shaky in some shots. We will rectify this by re-filming the shots
that are shaky.
The sixth thing that was pointed out was that some shots are
out of focus. We will rectify this by re-filming the shots that are out of
focus.
The next thing that was pointed out was that some shots are
too long. We will fix this by filming some additional shots and re-filming the
shots that are too long.
Another thing that was brought up was that the SRS shot was
weird. There is no SRS in our music video but we think this is referring to the
point where the man and woman are looking at each other up and down the stairs.
We fill sort out this confusion by shortening the sequence where they are
moving down the stairs and adding an extra shot of jack reaching the bottom of
the stairs and turning around.
The next issue that was pointed out was that the gaps with
no footage need to be filled. We know this and we are going to have to re-film
this missing footage as it has not transferred across to the editing software.
The tenth thing that was brought up was that it is unclear
why the man is climbing through the window. We will make this clearer by adding
a shot of the woman locking the door.
Another thing that was highlighted was that the start it
well polished but the quality falls away at the end. We will go back and
improve the ending by adding effects, colour corrections, improving the timings
and re-filming shaky shots.
Another thing that was pointed out was that some colour
corrections are needed. We will fix this by going back and adding these colour
collections.
It was also pointed out that it is not complete. The only
way this can be fixed is by completing it, so that’s what we will do.
It was also highlighted that we should have used a wider
variety of shots. We will be going out to re-film some shots and whilst we are
doing this we will film some additional shots.
The repetition could be confusing; this was another thing
that was pointed out to us. We will use a collection of effects to try and
distinguish different time periods to make the repetition less confusing.
It was also mentioned to us that we should use more, shorter
shots in our flashback sequence at the end. We will be going out to re-film
some shots and whilst we are doing this we will film some additional shots to
go into this sequence allowing the others to become shorter.
Another thing that was brought up was that the chorus was
too repetitive. We will be going out to re-film some shots and whilst we are
doing this we will film some additional shots in different locations to make
this less repetitive.
We also need to add in our names and candidate numbers at
the start. That is something that can be done easily so we shall do that.
The final thing that was mentioned was that some of the
tracking/handheld shots are wobbly. We will be going out to re-film these shots
to fix the problem.

Extra Research: Best Music Videos of 2013 and Most Viewed Music Videos 2013
YouTube Most Viewed Music Videos (UK - 2013):
1. Psy - Gentleman
2. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
3. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop
4. Ylvis - What Does The Fox Say?
From what I have found, these music videos are the most viewed in 2013. Psy - Gentleman is at the top, this isn't surprising after his recent success of Gangnam Style which took the world by storm in 2012.
Both the Miley Cyrus videos came next, these also weren't a surprise because of her controversial music videos, she is being portrayed in a completely different way than the way everyone saw her in her roles in Disney programmes. There were a lot of articles and lots of debating about what Miley might do next.
Ylvis was the next in most viewed on YouTube in 2013, as the rest of them this really isn't a surprise. Ylvis is a singer/songwriter that writes and performs peculiar songs for the entertainment of others but they still have a meaning behind them. His song, What does the fox say, was a huge hit in 2013, I think the reason why this song was so popular is because "What does a fox actually say?" and this song was meant to be funny but also factual, that's why it was so popular.

Music Videos for Inspiration
A music video that we have taken some inspiration from is Time by Chase and Status. This is because it has some really good shots in it, the narrative is very similar to what we are thinking about doing and it is a relatively medium difficulty video yet effective music video. The narrative is about a man and a woman who are having a troublesome relationship, the man keeps beating up the woman but then then they are happy at some points then it goes back to the woman beating the woman again and one of the children reacts and calls the police and the man goes into jail. This music video was made in this way because it is for Refuge for women and children, against domestic violence as shown at the end of the video below (3:42).
This music video from Chase and Status has areas in it that we think we will try to implement into our own music video because they are creative, this song mixes in with what we were thinking and this is one of our main music videos that we are basing our ideas from for our chosen song "Flat Foot Face" by Stan SB as a Drum and Bass artist.
Relates to Todorov - Robbie Williams - She's The One
The reason why I have chosen this music video is because it incorporates all of the stages of TODOROV's theory, there are five stages, these stages are;

The reason why I have chosen this music video is because it incorporates all of the stages of TODOROV's theory, there are five stages, these stages are;
- A state of equilibrium at the outset,
- A disruption of the equilibrium by some action,
- A recognition that there has been a disruption,
- An attempt to repair the disruption and
- A reinstatement of the equilibrium.

Music Video: Rough Cut 1
Rough Cut 1
This is our first rough cut for our music video. It is a very basic version of what hope our video to look like. Most of the editing has been simply cutting the clips we took to fit the song and then placing them so that they match up to our storyboard. We did however use some other editing techniques and transition; the most obvious of which would be the into-television transition at 2:12. As This is our first rough cut, some of the clips are not completely in sync with the song, however these are aspect that we are currently rectifying in our post production phase. We are also planning on re-filming some of the shots. For example, we are going to film a shot of Amy locking the door so that the window-climbing shot is more justified (allows it to flow).

Final Props
This is a list of our final props and the reasons why we chose these:
Glass Vase (No Flowers)
We decided to use a glass vase from a charity shop instead of lamp. There are multiple reasons for this:
We figured that the vase would be much easier to break than the lamp. This would therefore help the filming process run smoother.
The lamp would have been more expensive and possibly out of our planned budget.
Crème Sofa
We decided to use the crème sofa as we believed that the colour worked well to make it seem like part of the location; we though that a darker coloured sofa would not fit well and make the video seem unplanned.
Television
As the television was a relatively large part of our storyline, it was essential to have this in the same room as the sofa. Therefore, we used a flat screen Sony television as it was easily manoeuvrable so it allowed us to place it at the right point in the room to match our storyboard. It was also useful as it was not too large, making the framing slightly easier for us.
Remote Control
This was couple with the television and served only as a purpose for promoting the mise in our music video.

Location Scouting
In our locations scouting we need to get a few locations scouted to make sure we have a variety of locations that we can possibly use.
The first location that we thought about is a house in Chelmsford, this house is in a little village which we thought would be quite a good setting for our music video.
Front door from inside (this door would be used when man is exiting the house)
Driveway (other way) (this is another shot of the driveway where the man would walk back in from)
